Dear Logansport Schools Parents/Guardians

On August 31, 2020, the USDA granted a waiver to extend access to free meals for students at school.  The U.S. Secretary of Agriculture, Sonny Perdue, stated "As our nation reopens and people return to work, it remains critical for our children to continue to receive safe, healthy and nutritious food."  This will continue until the end of the school year.

At Logansport Schools, students are eligible to receive 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch each on regularly scheduled school days.  These two free meals must contain the necessary items that would qualify for reimbursement.  Therefore, a la carte and extra milk will require money on your students account and may be purchased at regular prices. If you bring your lunch and want to purchase a drink, these are available if your child has the funds in their account.  This waiver also applies to Virtual Learning students, they are eligible to receive 1 free breakfast and 1 free lunch.

Logansport Food & Nutrition Department will provide curbside meals most Wednesday's at Logansport Junior High School from 10:30-11:00 a.m. Meals will be distributed on the East side of the building. We will provide a 5-pack breakfast and lunch for virtual or quarantined students. Students at the Jr. High and High School on a Hybrid schedule will receive a 3-pack breakfasts and lunches. Meal packs are available to any child under the age of 18, except for students that attend in-person school. Those students are not eligible.

Please continue to fill out free and reduced meal applications as the District needs to know who may qualify for free or reduced meals. In addition, this information is used for various grants and other programs such as EBT cards.

We will not issue refunds at this time.
